Tire Pressure

Looking to gain a general tire pressure baseline both hot and cold.
Few questions because i am super new to this;
1. Do you guys adjust tire temps based on ambient track temperature.
2. Is there a general rule of thumb like high tire pressure equals fast but slidey VS low equals more corner speed ect?
3.Any best practices or habits i should adopt for the tires?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
